Chapter two
*Sasori and Zetsu fled the scene of the battle. There plan was to rendezvous with Deidara and Tobi. It didn't go as smoothly as planned…*
Zetsu was still split in two as he and Sasori ran through the forest. Sasori had switched his puppet body again using that scroll he had taken with him. He now looked just like his old puppet body excluding the flamethrowers and water shooters. "Any idea where Deidara is?" Sasori asked as he jumped up to the treetops, now jumping from branch to branch. Black Zetsu opened his mouth and was about to say something but then a huge explosion formed what looked like about a mile ahead of them. "N-never mind" Sasori grunted as he sped up slightly.  White Zetsu laughed as he said, "I found him!" Black Zetsu gave him a stare, "Knock it off." White Zetsu looked down, "Eheh… I thought it was funny."
Sasori suddenly stopped. "Listen…" he said as he stood perfectly still on a branch. Suddenly a voice echoed through the forest. "True art… Is an explosion!!" Suddenly the wind picked up and trees started blowing everywhere as a huge explosion came from there left enveloping everything it touched in the huge white blast. Sasori immediately shot out the cord in his stomach far to the right. It stuck into some tree and pulled him away from the explosion.  Both white and black Zetsu slowly started to sink into the ground hiding from the explosion underground.
Sasori although still couldn't get away. Soon the wide explosion was on top of him. He thought he was doomed but suddenly the explosion started retracting as if it were getting sucked away by something. In fact soon the whole explosion was gone, and all that remained was a small black vortex that had apparently saved Sasori's life. Sasori looked down on the ground beneath him to see some ninja. The nine tails jinchuriki with them. He smiled, now was his chance. It seemed as if Deidara had failed to capture Naruto. He was getting ready to jump down but Zetsu suddenly appeared next to him, coming out if the branch he was standing on.
Zetsu had formed back together into one body. Black Zetsu spoke softly so the ninja beneath them couldn't hear, "I wouldn't do that if I were you. They have two whole squads down there. One of them is even Kakashi the copy ninja, the one who stopped the explosion.  And even you couldn't fight them in your condition." He explained. "Fine… some other time then." Sasori said reluctantly. "But it looks like Deidara is gone. I told Itachi he'd be the type to die an early death." Sasori said. Suddenly a voice came from behind them, "Oh shut up!" Both Zetsu and Sasori spun around quickly in surprise to find Deidara with no arms. "Don't stare." Deidara said gruffly. White Zetsu smiled, "Oh sorry Deidara. Did you need a hand taking care of that Jinchuriki? Or maybe two?" Black Zetsu rolled his eyes, "Shut up." White Zetsu shut up after that running out of jokes to tell. "Well Sasori my man, did you handle that old hag and the little brat?" Deidara asked.  Sasori looked down, "Not this time…" he said. Deidara was dumbfounded, "They beat you!?" he asked surprised. Sasori changed the conversation, "Forget that, we need to get out of here now, before they see us anyway." He said gesturing to the ninja gathered below them. Deidara nodded, "Yea ok. Lets go." Black Zetsu started to sink into the tree branch again, "I'm going to report to Pain. You two know where to go." He said disappearing.  Once Zetsu was gone Deidara looked at Sasori's puppet body, "You need to put a shirt on my man." Sasori's eyes remained blank, "Shut up Deidara, or you'll be missing more then two hands."
